A trio of Assistant PGMs at Estune!

It was indeed a very rare honour for Estune Lodge to have a trio of Assistant Provincial Grand Masters in attendance at the Lodge’s January Meeting. Rather like a London bus, you wait for one forever and then three come along together!
The Meeting was attended by 46 members and 17 visitors, many from the Province of Bristol where some of our Brethren are members of both Provinces. The main business of the evening was to initiate David John Rhodes (Second from left), a Mechanical Engineer/Project manager aged 41 living in Whitchurch. David was the 282nd person to join Estune since the Lodge’s Consecration in 1949, being Proposed and Seconded by two other, younger Brethren who are also from Bristol, namely Darren Clark and Jason Hill 2012 who were initiated into Estune Lodge in 2015 and 2012 respectively. Bristol’s loss is rather fortunately a big gain for the continuing strength of Estune.
Into the history books as a first for Estune – honoured by all three APGM’s led by W.Bro Ben Batley who also announced the Lodge Provincial appointments and promotions for 2018.

On yer bike! Estune Lodge helps Local Charity

One of the many Charities supported by the Province as part of the Tercentenary celebration was See Change. Estune Lodge were impressed by what this particular Charity did and as a result asked them what the Lodge could do to help out. ‘We need some bicycles for our bicycle workshops’ was the reply from Gemma at SeeChange, so the Brethren of Estune Lodge were asked to look into their sheds and garages to see what they could come up with. As you can see from the picture a number of very useful donations were made including our Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W Bro Martin Slocombe’s most prized possession, the picture says it all….! Thanks should also be recorded to Bill Parsons, a Member of Backwell Lodge for all of his very kind help in organising the transport
