Two of the “best” Lodges in Somerset 

Benevolent and Love and Honour held a joint social evening in Wells yesterday. 446 and 285 have a great history together and it was fantastic to enjoy a relaxed social evening amongst friends.

We started with pre-dinner drinks at The Crown, famous for scenes in the movie Hot Fuzz. In fact they were doing their annual Hot Fuzz evening so all of the staff were dressed as Police. There were 42 brethren and friends present and we had a rare moment of sunshine so we took advantage of the outside seating.

We then moved on to BDW Restaurant. This is an American style diner that offer a number of different burger/hot dog/chicken options as well as US/UK beers and ales.

The WMs and Secretaries of both lodges were present and there were a good number from both lodges – particularly a number of new masons which was great to see.

There were also 2 potential new members, they just need to decide whether to join a city lodge (446) or a country lodge (285),  or perhaps both. Either way they will be joining a great and welcoming lodge.

A good number of 285 brethren are looking forward to visiting 446 for their next meeting on Thursday.
